Why Shouldn’t We Exercise at Home by Ourselves?

Many people are aware of the benefits of exercise and every person wants to start exercising. However, exercise can sometimes be dangerous. Especially recently, we have been seeing countless exercise videos on social media. But are these exercises right for you? No one can decide this without evaluating you. If you care about your health, you should not try every exercise you see at home. For this reason, I have listed the harms of exercising at home. Let’s take a look together.

1. Expectations

In the first days we do exercises, we expect changes in our body. This is quite a misconception. When you exercise for 1 day, a magic wand will not touch you. You should include exercise in your life. It takes time to see the benefits of exercises. Therefore, do not believe the headlines called “abdominal muscle in 10 minutes” in order to be clicked more on social media.

2. Goals

The benefits of exercising are multiple. The most important of these benefits is its positive effect on our health. Deciding your health goals will steer you towards the right intensity of activity for you. You can do this in the most accurate way with the help of an expert. If you choose the exercise that is not suitable for you, your motivation will decrease because you did not get the reward. This will distract you from exercise.

3. Not Doing the Exercises Correctly

Every exercise we choose while doing sports works a certain muscle group and has a purpose. If we do the exercises the wrong way, we can work a different muscle group and it may be inconvenient for us. Doing the exercise incorrectly can damage the joints. It may even cause you injury. An expert knows which muscle is working in which movement while doing sports.

4. Risk of Injury

As I said in the previous article, doing the exercise incorrectly can cause injury. How else can we be injured? By choosing an exercise intensity that is not suitable for you. By exercising for long hours. And if we work with weights that are not suitable for us, the probability of injury is quite high.

5. Having Deficiencies of the Exercise Program

When we do sports with an expert, an exercise program is prepared for us. This program progresses gradually. That is, the severity ranges from easy to difficult. And every exercise program should include warm-up and cool-down periods. Done correctly, warming up and cooling down may offer help in reducing your risk of injury.

6. Lack of Appropriate Equipment at Home

Doing the same exercise all the time can reduce your motivation and annoy you after a while. At this point, it is important to use different tools while exercising. It can make exercise fun. How long can you continue the exercise that has become a boring task?
